12 Things that Keep Ina Raymundo Looking and Feeling Young
A lot of us know her as the sexy vixen in that iconic 90's television commercial. These days, Ina Raymundo has traded her night outs for day ins with her family, working out, and breakfasts. As she graced the pages of our Avon brochures as the Avon Skin So Soft Lotion with Collagen Protector ambassador, we can’t help but notice that Ina doesn’t seem to age a day. What’s her secret? Check out our list to find out!
It’s all in the mind: feel young to look young.
Ina says, “I really do feel much younger, younger than my age. Maybe because I am surrounded by kids. When you are surrounded by young people you feel young.”
She keeps a consistent workout regimen
“I do Zumba thrice a week. I do boxing once to twice a month. I do TRX Suspension Training twice a week.”
And soldiers on even if she doesn’t feel like it sometimes.
Have you ever had those days when you can’t get yourself to workout? You’re not alone. Ina has those days, too.
“You would think at this point, I’m so into fitness…no! There are really days that I’m lazy and I don’t really wanna do it but I pushed myself. But whenever I feel that way, I always think of it as a challenge and say ‘OK, how am I going to fit 5 days of training in this busy schedule?’ And if you pull it off, believe me, it’s going to feel amazing.”
Fitspiration is not just a label.
“I’d like to teach Zumba in the future and to empower more women to be healthy despite their busy schedules or having kids. Because when you are healthy, taking care of your kids will come easy. You get that natural high, that energy, to share with your kids.”
If you’re not blessed with good genes, get a little help from your fave beauty product.
Ina shares that her relatives - who are also in showbizness - don’t look their age, too. She believes she inherited those good genes from her uncle (famous matinee idol and actor).
“I credit it to my lifestyle but I think it’s in the genes, too, and of course the Avon Skin So Soft Lotion with Collagen Protector that gives me that youthful glow.”
Cherish your childhood dreams and celebrate everyday how far you’ve come.
From dreaming to becoming a commercial model at 14 to help out her mom to overcoming looking stick-thin when she was younger, Ina is still in awe of how many of her dreams have already come true.
“As soon as I started making money, I paid for everything. I paid for myself. I paid for my education. One would think that working at a young age will make you lose that sense of childlikeness, but for me, my desire to help out my mom was my driving force.
Also at that time, the thing that made me famous, which is being sexy, I never thought I would make it because I was so skinny as a teenager.
That time it was impossible to even imagine that I’d be called sexy. But when I look back now, it’s so strange. I’m turning 40 and I still appreciate that people think of me as sexy. But these days, I want to be healthy not because I want to look sexy, really. I want to be healthy.”
Appreciate the small things that make life awesome.
“I really appreciate all things - all of God’s creations, my family, my friends even if I don’t see them often, my kids’ kisses and hugs the most, super! I am also always thankful when fans ask for a photo. If I could only have one with all of them, I would!”
Music helps a lot, too!
Ina admits she loves listening to a lot of old songs from the likes of Astrud Gilberto and The Beatles, but she prefers hip hop and rap when she does Zumba. She also listens to Sia, Sam Smith, Maroon, 5, and Beyoncé.
Always start the day right by being thankful.
“I’m a morning person. I don’t need coffee. I have a natural high because I am a natural morning person. I appreciate my breakfast the most because I’m so hungry in the morning.”
Work on fulfilling your life’s purpose.
Ina says she feels lucky to realize her life's purpose early on, that is to become a mom or a Dakilang Ina (great mom).
“I consider keeping my family healthy, making sure that they are well-fed and secured physically and emotionally as my greatest achievement. It’s all about my family.”
Did you know that Ina’s name also means mother in Filipino?
Find strength and inspiration from other great moms, too.
“I wanna be remembered as a Dakilang Ina. But you know, there are more moms out there that are even greater than me. I was recently at an Avon event with an Avon Sales Leader and breast cancer survivor Ms. Franz Tolentino. When I heard her story I felt so emotional and so inspired to become a better mom.”
Most importantly, believe that you are beautiful.
When asked if she sees herself as beautiful: “My daughters always tell me that I am so I have to believe them. So yes, I do. Seriously, my girls always tell me ‘Mommy you are so beautiful. Mommy, you are beautiful every single day’ because they hear me tell them that they’re beautiful, too.”
